The Malaysian government first talked about the Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia (BKM) project in 2022. (BKM) scheme helps older people, single parents, and families with three or more children directly by giving them money.

“Families with up to four children would be able to get BKM between RM1,000 and RM2,000.” Families with between 2 and 5 children and a salary of RM2,500 to RM5,000 would get BKM between RM500 and RM1,000.

He said, “Senior citizens who are single or don’t have a spouse will continue to get BKM of RM600 or RM350, depending on how much money they make.” Tengku Zafrul said that single parents with children will be able to get an extra RM500 in aid starting in 2023.

In other words, a parent who is on their own could get up to RM3,000 in benefits. Compared to this year’s RM2,500, the highest BKM rate has gone up.
