DWP Announced 6.7% Rise in Benefits

Benefits are going to go up by 6.7% next year, according to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). On November 22, 2024, this important news was shared. In 2024, the state salary and benefits will be changed based on the consumer price index from September of that year.

List of Benefits That Will Rise By 6.7% Next Year in UK

On the website of the UK Government, you can find the suggested benefit and pension rates for 2024 and 2025. The rewards that go up with inflation will go up by 6.7% in 2024.

Since 2011, the UK’s inflation rate is usually checked in September, right before the start of the new fiscal year. CPI is the standard way to figure out inflation. The following things will have an effect on the benefit and salary rates for the next fiscal year:

UNIVERSAL CREDIT:

The standard amount for people under 25 who are single will go up from £292.11 to £311.68. On the other hand, the normal allowance for couples will go up from £458.51 to £489.23. ATTENDANCE ALLOWANCE:

The lower rate of the attendance allowance will go up from £68.10 to £72.65, and the higher rate will go up from £101.75 to £108.55.

DISABILITY LIVING ALLOWANCE:

The top rate for the Care Component will go up from £101.75 to £108.55, the middle rate from £68.10 to £72.65, and the bottom rate from £26.90 to £28.70.

Highest £101.75 → £108.55

The higher rate for the Mobility Component will go up from £71 to £75.75, and the lower rate will go up from £26.90 to £28.70.

PERSONAL INDEPENDENCE PAYMENT:

The enhanced part of the daily living component will go up from £101.75 to £108.55, and the regular part will go up from £68.10 to £72.65.

The normal part of the mobility component will go up from £26.90 to £28.70, and the enhanced part will go up from £71 to £75.75.

The highest life bonus will go up from £13,780 to £14,700. Depending on the level of disability, the weekly amount will also go up.

People with a 100% level of disability will get £221.50 a week, while people with a 20% level of disability can get up to £44.30 a week in 2024.

STATUTORY PATERNITY PAY:

From £172.48 to £184.03, the standard amount of statutory paternity pay will go up.

From £109.40 to £116.75, the standard amount of statutory sick pay will go up.

INCAPACITY BENEFIT:

The amount of money given for long-term disability will go up from £130.20 to £138.90. The short-term disability benefit for people under the age of 65 will go up from £116.20 to £124 (higher rate).

The higher amount of the short-term incapacity benefit for people over the age of 65 will go up from £130.20 to £138.90.

SEVERE DISABLEMENT ALLOWANCE:

The main rate of the benefit for people with severe disabilities will rise from £92.20 to £98.40. Also, the higher rate will go up from £13.8 to £14.7. Both the middle rate and the lower rate will go up from £7.65 to £8.15.

Basic rate £92.20 → £98.40

Age-related addition:

Lower rate £7.65 → £8.15
Middle rate £7.65 → £8.15
Higher rate £13.80 → £14.70

STATUTORY ADOPTION PAY:

Starting on April 8, 2024, the legal adoption pay will go up by 6.7%. The legal amount of money given for adoption will go up from £172.48 to £184.03.

Standard Rate £172.48 → £184.03

The income limit, on the other hand, will stay the same at £123.
